Who we are

What we collect

We keep the data we collect through this site to the minimum needed to answer an enquiry. There are two sources.

Information you give us

When you submit the enquiry form we receive the fields you complete: name, company, email address, phone number, origin market or country of supplier, the service you selected, and your message. Only name, email and your consent are required; the rest are optional. We also record that you ticked the consent box.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard server logs for every request — including IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time of the request. These logs exist to keep the site available and secure, and to detect abuse.

This site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy.

Why we use it, and on what basis

To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote

Because you asked us to, and because it is in our legitimate interest to respond to people who contact us about our services. Where consent is the basis, you may withdraw it at any time.

To provide services you go on to engage us for

To perform a contract with you, or to take steps at your request before entering into one.

To keep the site secure and available

Our legitimate interest in operating a functioning, non-abused website.

To comply with law

Where we are legally required to retain or disclose information.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only so far as they need it:

• Website hosting. This site is hosted on Vercel, which serves the pages and maintains the server logs described above.
• Email delivery. Enquiry form submissions are delivered to our own inbox by an email delivery provider.

We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If our business is sold or reorganised, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers may process data in the United States and elsewhere. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection law differs from that of your own country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of our correspondence, and then deleted. Where an enquiry becomes a commercial relationship, records are kept for as long as that relationship lasts and for the period afterwards required by applicable tax, accounting and commercial law. Server logs are retained for a short period by our hosting provider.

Your rights

Subject to your local law, you may ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is inaccurate, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or provide it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting anything done before you did.

To exercise any of these, email ops@gohermesfreight.com. We will respond within the time your law allows. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are in the EU or UK and you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to enquiry data to the people who need it to do their job. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive personal information, financial account details or identity documents through the enquiry form.

Children

This site is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or our practices change. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
